The Technology Behind BlitzDocs®
BlitzDocs is built using a combination of proprietary software and existing, industry-tested and widely-accepted software, such as Microsoft™ and Adobe™. Data accessed from BlitzDocs is transferred using XML, the most widely-accepted format for data transfer on the Internet. With XML at the core of data transfer, BlitzDocs can be accessed and used by other non-browser based clients. XML also provides support for other business-to-business service models in the future.
Security
BlitzDocs has a patented multi-tier security model that provides organizations with the security access they need at the document level. Lenders can define accessibility rights based on security tiers, including a person’s role (i.e. originator), a person’s rights (i.e. administrator) or a document’s usage/workflow. In addition, temporary access can be granted to specified mortgage parties to securely access and download documents. For all BlitzDocs users, a secure username and password must be provided for authentication. Within the solution, users can only access the folders and documents to which they have been specifically granted access by the lender.
BlitzDocs provides numerous layers of physical, application, network and communications security layers. The BlitzDocs servers are housed at a secure managed data center facility. All customer data exchanged between a user and BlitzDocs is encrypted using industry standard 128-bit encryption techniques. Secure Socket Layers (SSL) connections are provided using a Verisign certificate. All publicly accessible servers are protected via firewall, multiple intrusion detection systems, regular penetration testing, continuous monitoring, and have SAS 70 Type II audits performed annually.
Scalability
BlitzDocs has successfully demonstrated that it can accommodate hundreds of thousands of loans per month in its current configuration. The system was designed to scale seamlessly, accommodating higher volumes with simple server, network and database upgrades and additions. Xerox Mortgage Services monitors the solution’s performance 24/7 and provides continual, non-impact scaling and upgrading platforms when necessary.
Reliability
Due to BlitzDocs’ on-demand, hosted model, the solution has a proven track record of an uptime better than 99.9% over the last five years. This roughly translates to less than ten hours of mostly scheduled downtime during the course of an entire year. By providing continual uptime, Xerox Mortgage Services helps companies ensure loan times are accelerated and customer service is improved.
Patented
BlitzDocs leverages patented technology, specifically US Patent No. 7,146,367, for a Document Management System and Method. The patent, secured on Dec. 5, 2006, broadly protects BlitzDocs technology, with respect to the collecting, organizing, retrieving, viewing and storing of imaged mortgage loan documents within a shared electronic loan folder that can be accessed by multiple parties, including brokers, lenders, MI companies, investors and other service providers.
